Using the ZD Pigments website
These are the terms on which zdpigments.com is offered. They are short because the site is simple: it describes what the shop sells and lets you write to it. Last updated 28 September 2026.
What the site is for
The site presents the dry pigments, binders and grinding tools that ZD Pigments supplies to painters, describes how they behave, and provides a form for asking for a swatch card, placing an order or asking a question. The descriptions are written from the shop's own experience on the slab and from what each maker publishes about its pigment. They are offered as a painter's working notes, not as a specification, and a pigment from a different bed or a different maker may behave differently.
An enquiry is not a contract
Sending the form, or emailing the shop, is a request for information or a request to buy. It does not form a contract, reserve stock or fix a price. A sale exists only when the shop has written back setting out what will be supplied and you have agreed to it in writing. The shop may decline any request, and always declines the ones listed on the home page under what we do not do.
Acceptable use
You may read the site, link to it, and use its descriptions to help choose and use pigment for painting. You may not copy the text or the photographs for another site or publication, run automated tools against the form, send anything unlawful or abusive through it, or use the site to seek pigment for cosmetic, food, tattoo or industrial purposes, which the shop does not supply.
Intellectual property
The text, the layout and the swatch wall are the work of ZD Pigments. The photographs are the work of the people named in the credits below and are used under the licences stated there. Colour-index names are a public naming scheme and belong to nobody.
No safety information
Nothing on this site is a safety classification, a handling instruction or advice on toxicity or disposal. The maker's own sheet travels with every order and is the document to read. Questions about handling go to the maker or to your local authority.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, ZD Pigments is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the descriptions here, from the site being unavailable, or from anything you send through the form being delayed or lost in transit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute about the site are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, because the shop is placed in Norwich, Norfolk.
Changes
The shop may revise these terms, and the date at the top moves when it does. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.

Every photograph on this site is used under a public licence or is in the public domain. The maker of each, the licence and the source are given here as plain text so that the credit stays with the picture.
