Ask for a swatch card

Name the pigments you are weighing up and the binder you paint in. We brush each one out on a proper paper, write the colour-index name beside it, and post the card. The same form is the way to place an order or ask a question about a colour; there is no other counter.

What happens after you send

The message lands in the shop's mailbox, [email protected], and is read in the order it arrived, Tuesday to Saturday.
A written reply from the shop usually follows within two working days, saying what is in stock, what is not, and whether the card can carry everything you asked for.
The swatches are brushed out in your binder on a proper paper and left to dry properly before they are posted, because a wet swatch lies about its colour.
If your message was an order, the reply sets out the weights, the jars and the posting, and nothing is weighed until you have agreed it.

Where the shop is

Norwich, Norfolk, England. Cards and orders are posted to addresses within the United Kingdom; painters elsewhere are welcome to write with a question about a pigment.

What we cannot help with

Pigment for cosmetic, food, tattoo or industrial use; safety classification or handling advice, which belongs to the maker; solvents; and identifying the pigment in a painting you already own. A message asking for any of those gets a polite no.
