How ZD Pigments handles what you send
This page describes what the website at zdpigments.com collects, which is very little, and what becomes of it. Last updated 28 September 2026.
Who is writing this
ZD Pigments is a colour shop placed in Norwich, Norfolk, England, selling dry pigment, binders and grinding tools to painters by enquiry. The shop is the controller of any personal information you give it through this site. The only address for anything on this page is [email protected].
The swatch-card form
The form on the swatch-card page asks for your name, your email address, the binder you paint in, the pigments you would like brushed out, and a message. When you press send, those fields travel to a third-party form-relay service, which turns them into an email and delivers that email to the shop's mailbox. The relay carries the message on its way and keeps no account for you. We use what you sent to answer you, to make up the card or the order you asked for, and to post it. Your email address is used to reply and for nothing else; your postal address, if you give one, is used to post the parcel.
A message and its reply are kept in the shop's mailbox for as long as the enquiry or order is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case a jar needs replacing or a colour needs matching. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner, and it will be.
The consent preference
On your first visit a small notice offers Accept all, Manage preferences and a link to this page. Whatever you choose is written as a single entry named zd_colour_pref in your browser's local storage, so that the notice does not come back. That entry is the only thing this site stores on your device. Nothing reads it today: there is no analytics script, no advertising tag, no tag manager and no cookie set by the site itself, and none of those are installed at launch. The analytics and performance switch in the preferences panel exists so that, if such a tool were ever added, it would respect a choice you had already made. Until then the switch changes nothing.
Clearing your browser's site data removes the entry, and the notice will appear again.
Requests your browser makes
The pages are plain files. Apart from those files, your browser fetches the two typefaces from a public font library, which sees the request for the font files and the usual technical details that go with any web request, and nothing more. The site has no third-party scripts, no embedded players and no social buttons.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the form relay described above and the postal service that carries a parcel. We do not build profiles and we do not send newsletters; every message from the shop is a reply to something you asked.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, receive a copy in a portable form, or object to a particular use of it. If you are a resident of California you have the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to opt out of any sale (there is none), and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. In every case, write to [email protected] from the address you originally used and say what you want; we answer within a month and usually within days.
Children
The shop sells to adults and does not knowingly collect anything from a child. If a child has sent a message, a parent can ask for it to be removed.
Changes and credits
If the way this site works changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The photographs on the site and their sources are listed on the image credits section of the terms page.
